We seek to illuminate constitutional ideals and inspire active citizenship.
WHAT THEY’RE ALL ABOUT
Be moved, be touched, be awakened by the historical wonders the National Constitution Center has to offer. This center serves as an ‘interactive museum, national town hall and civic education headquarters’ to inform and inspire American activism in the young and old. Impressive educational resources are available for download that include lesson plans, games, videos and historical documents— like a poster size print of the handwritten 13th amendment responsible for abolishing slavery.
National “celeb” names attached to this center are George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton and Sandra Day O’Connor, just to name a few. The current featured exhibition running now through the end of April is “American Spirits - The Rise & Fall of Prohibition” and for the remainder of February, tours and programs at the center are focused on African American History Month. With almost 14,000 Facebook followers (and growing) it’s no wonder why this place is truly a historical gem.
So the next time you take a trip to Historic Philadelphia, be sure to stop by to learn more about the beauty of our freedom and the American voice. Go USA!
